First, let me explain the name. Well, my name is Melissa (which means honeybee) and I have a passion for making beautiful things that help create beautiful memories.
I officially began this journey into the unknown (and often scary) world of business ownership in July of 2010, but I have been crafting for, well, as long as I can remember. This adventure started when we were trying to plan Halloween costumes for my kids in the fall of 2009. Brianna wanted to be a ladybug, and Diana a ballerina. (My son wanted to be a fireman, boys are so easy lol!) I decided to make them each a tutu. I spent the next 2 weeks making tutus and hand-sewing tiny sequins and seed beads to bright red tulle. Everywhere we went that year, people raved about my girls’ gorgeous and unique costumes! I was hooked.
A few months later, my best friend and I went out to lunch. She reached into her purse and pulled out a few hair bows that she had made for her little girl. It was her new hobby. I loved them and decided to try my hand at it for my girls. Soon, I was making original hair bows for everyone from friends to family to co-workers’ grandchildren. People were asking me to make them for their kids. I decided to go into business. I left my job, and dove in head-first.
So, that’s my story. . . so far. This blog will serve as a way for me to showcase new designs and styles. I will occasionally be running specials and contests, so check back every day to see what’s new! Let me know what you think!
